The Learning Collaborative (TLC) provides a tuition free, high quality preschool education through a unique partnership with our students, families, parents, staff and community. Our vision is that children and parents working together can overcome at-risk beginnings through early educational intervention, paving the way for success in kindergarten and beyond, inspiring a love of learning, confidence in themselves and hope for the future.
We remove the barrier of poor school attendance by providing daily transportation to all children who need it. Students are warmly greeted at the door by the executive director and family involvement specialist, then welcomed into classrooms by teachers. TLC provides a healthy breakfast, a hot lunch and afternoon snack. From 8:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, the children are engaged in singing songs, sorting shapes, playing make-believe, reading stories, building towers and knocking them down – all activities that encourage cognitive growth. |
