What is the Green Apple Gig?
TLC has always held an annual fundraiser and friendraiser. In recent years, we moved away from a typical non-profit event with silent/live auctions to an afternoon that is much more aligned with our organization and those we serve. Thus, we made the Green Apple Gig a free family carnival afternoon! Held at the Myers Park Presbyterian Church Outreach Center, the Gig is conveniently located for the families we serve, as well as for friends of TLC who support our mission. This is an afternoon where parents and children can gather, meet friends, and not worry about the cost of attending. All activities are free except for the food trucks. Sponsorships allow us to provide each TLC family with a ticket for a free meal for the student and a parent. To be inclusive and respectful of all present, there are no fundraising activities at the Gig.
